Tour of El Puerto de Santa María

On the first day in El Puerto de Santa María, before beginning Spanish lessons, we will have a tour through the historic centre, so that students have a first contact with our town. A member of the school staff will accompany the group and will show them the most important and typical places in El Puerto de Santa María, making a short trip through the long history of this town, from its foundation - according to the legend, after the Trojan War - until the present day.

Duration: 1 hour and a half.

Trip to Cádiz

After the beautiful trip by catamaran across the Bay, we visit Cadiz, the capital of our province. Cadiz is the oldest city in the West. It is famous for its carnival, and the happiness of its inhabitants. A school representative will accompany the students on a tour in the Tacita de Plata – this is how Cádiz is called locally. The main attraction of the tour is the visit to the Tavira Tower and its Camera Obscura. There we can see the city of Cadiz in 360º and in real time, thanks to a system of lenses and mirrors.

Sports on Valdelagrana Beach

Actiba2000 offers many activities in the area of Valdelagrana. For our students, we have chosen bike and kayak. The bike route will be along the promenade to reach the Natural Park Los Toruños and the Playa de Levante, a wonderful pristine beach that is part of the natural park. Students will be always accompanied by a representative of Trinity School, but also by a professional monitor of Actiba2000, who will participate in all activities with them.

Visit to Caballero wine cellar and San Marcos Castle

This area of Spain, the south of Andalusia, is famous because it is the only place where Sherry wine is produced. Students visit Caballero wine cellar in order to better understand our wine culture, the elaboration process of Sherry and its special features. Then, they visit the San Marcos Castle, a former mosque that was built in the 10th century and that was turned into a church-fortress after the Reconquest. If its walls could talk, they would have hundreds of interesting stories to tell.

Tapas or Paella Night

One night, students go to a very typical bar located in the centre of El Puerto de Santa María. There, they eat a delicious fresh paella, cooked when they arrived to the bar. We can choose between chicken, seafood or vegetarian paella. The bar also offers a wide variety of tapas: fried fish, potatoes salad, ali-oli potatoes ... A Flamenco show is also available.

Visit to Jerez de la Frontera and shopping afternoon

The nearby city of Jerez is the most populated city in the province, famous for the Jerez / Xerez / Sherry wine and for being the birthplace of Flamenco. We'll go to Jerez by train and take a walk downtown to know the most important monuments: the Cathedral, the Alcázar, Bodegas ... then, there will be free time for shopping in the city center.

Trip to Seville

This is a day trip to visit the capital city of Andalusia. We go to Seville by private bus from the bullring to the center of Seville. The travel is by motorway Cadíz-Seville and lasts about one hour 25 minutes. First, we make a little tour through the most important places in Sevilla: Plaza de las Américas, Parque de María Luisa, Plaza de España... After the tour, we visit the Cathedral, the Reales Alcázares (the King’s Palace) and the Jewish Quarter, with a guide. After the visits, students have about one hour free.

Trip to Gibraltar

Non European nationals need a visa to enter into Gibraltar. All students will have to show their passports at the frontier. In Gibraltar, we organize a guided visit in small buses around the rock of Gibraltar stopping at St Michaels caves and visiting the monkeys. Then on the way back and always weather permitting we stop at a beautiful beach called BOLONIA and let the children have about 2 hours there, there are Roman ruins beside this beach and a wonderful view of Africa.
