El Puerto de Santa Maria has many beautiful beaches all in the bay of Cadiz and within a short reach of Trinity School, and you can enjoy them during nearly 6 months of the year! This coastline is known as Costa de la Luz because of the unusually clear and intense quality of the light. We have 3100 hours of sun per year!! There are 22 km. of Atlantic coastline around the city, with 15 Km of beaches of fine golden sand: unspoil beaches, cliffs, salt marshes teeming with wildlife and a little-known underwater world waiting to be discovered! And to cool down from the heat there is nothing more refreshing than cristal-blue water of the Atlantic ocean. It would not be any warmer than 20°C in the summer, but neither any colder than 12°C in the winter! Our beaches are perfect for windsurfing and fishing too.
The nearest beach to our school is Playa Puntilla
Playa Puntilla is closest to the school and has a camp site opposite the beach. There are several very good bars with many options of local food, especially locally caught fresh fish. A beautiful location with a view of Cadiz city.
There are other beaches in El Puerto de Santa Maria and to get there the students would need to use the public transport. Bus number 3 will take you to all the beaches.
Playa Muralla and El Las Redes / Manantial beach
These two beaches are very close to each other. The first is located at the end of the Puerto Sherry Marina and is a small beach with the nicest atmosphere. This beach has a fabulous views of the bay of Cadiz and there are several restaurants and bar located in Puerto Sherry Marina where you can have a meal with a glass of Sangria and enjoy a beautiful sunset over the bay of Cadiz.
The Manantial beach is a beautiful 3.5Km long sandy beach situated in open waters and also has some very good bars and restaurants with tapas. Also good for surfing when the winds are strong. A beach for all the family
Lastly there is the Valdelagrana beach on the other side of the city and crossing the river Guadalete by road in an urbanization of the same name "Valdelagrana". This beach is 6Kms long and nearly reaches Cadiz. There is a long promenade in front of the beach where you will find many bars and restaurants with out side terraces for you to enjoy a cool drink or an ice cream in the sun.
